Selection
If you’re evaluating whether iMIS is right for your association, we’re ready to help. We’re platform-agnostic, so we’ll give you an honest read on how the platform fits your organization’s work.
iMIS is an Association Management System (AMS). They call themselves an Engagement Management System (EMS), which is a term they coined to emphasize that their system provides a robust suite of AMS, CRM, and other engagement features, such as e-commerce and donations.
iMIS’ strength is the depth and configurability of the platform, which has been around since the 1990s and has grown into a deep, highly customizable platform for organizations that want to manage dues, renewals, events, and member engagement in one place. It’s clear from their intricate features and extensive configuration options that they know and understand the needs of associations, and they’ve evolved their features over decades of direct feedback from their clients.
As we get started, we help you sort through which modules and configurations match your membership structure, rather than defaulting to everything the platform offers. We take your needs, values, workflows, and budget into careful consideration as we move into implementation.
Migration
Moving membership records, dues and donation history, and event data can be cumbersome and easy to get wrong, especially if your association has been tracking information across older systems or spreadsheets for years. We’ll clean up your data before it moves anywhere, then plan, test, and carefully run the import into iMIS, so your member records and history come through accurately.
We are experts at data manipulation, so even if you’re moving from a system with an entirely different structure, we will transform your information to fit iMIS’ infrastructure to maximize accuracy and maintain continuity for you and your members.
Customization
We want you to work with your CRM, not around it. iMIS is known for its deep customizations, and we help you take advantage of that without over-engineering your setup. We cover custom fields, business objects, Intelligent Query Architects (IQAs), membership dues and cycles, dashboards, member directory, renewal workflows, automations, and reporting that reflects how your association operates. We’ll also set up iMIS’ RiSE platform for a custom member portal and experience.
We can even build custom apps to hook into your iMIS instance for further automation and custom behaviors that extend beyond the out-of-the-box functionality of iMIS.
Integration
We help iMIS speak to the other systems your team and members rely on. We handle event platforms like Swoogo, continuing education and certification tools for credentialing organizations like Moodle, and your primary website (if you choose for it to be separate from iMIS RiSE), as well as custom connections through iMIS’s API for just about anything else your association uses.
Clear communication before, during, and after
Whatever your project may be, we want to keep your nonprofit’s staff in the loop. You may know exactly what needs improvement, or not; we’re here to help either way! We work with your team to understand where your current systems and workflows are falling short and chart a clear path forward. We then make recommendations that align with your organization’s goals and budget. Once we’ve confirmed the plan, we get to work, with plenty of check-ins built into the process.
One of the most important steps we take is helping your team acclimate to the changes we make. After all, what good are new systems and integrations if no one knows how to use them? Our work is geared toward sustainability, and part of that is setting your staff up for long-term success. We lead training demos and walk through everything that’s new in plain language, so your team can navigate your new and improved system with confidence.
