What platforms do you use to build nonprofit websites?

We work primarily in Drupal, WordPress, Backdrop CMS, Squarespace, and HubSpot. We help you choose the right platform by considering your organization’s size, technical capacity, budget, and long-term goals.

What happens after the site launches?

We offer managed hosting, maintenance, and ongoing support for the sites we build. We handle security updates, feature additions, CMS version upgrades, hands-on support, and long-term online strategy.

Do you work on e-commerce and/or registration/donation systems that collect payments?

Absolutely. We’re familiar with a range of e-commerce systems, including Drupal Commerce (and the Backdrop port of commerce that we wrote and maintain), various WordPress commerce plugins, and custom commerce solutions built to order. We can integrate multiple payment processors, sync your commerce data with your accounting system, develop reports and fulfillment workflows, configure analytics and conversion tracking, and more.

Do you work on membership portals or community websites?

We certainly do. Over the years, we’ve developed the custom member portals of our clients’ dreams, and we’ve helped other organizations recover from the over- or under-built membership platforms of nightmares. We can help with lightweight resource collections screened off behind gentle requests for email addresses, or we can build robust, secure, members-only specialty sites that serve needs as diverse as providing technical legal assistance to immigration attorneys, facilitating mentorship applications and matchmaking, and allowing high school teachers to assign and evaluate interactive homework assignments.

Do you integrate websites with CRMs and other third-party platforms?

Yes. We’ve built integrations with Salesforce, QuickBooks, Bloomerang, iMIS, EveryAction, Little Green Light, Insightly, Higher Logic, Clever, Moodle, Shopify, Magento, and more. Because we also offer CRM consulting for nonprofits, we can help think through the data side before any integration work begins.

What does “peer-reviewed code” mean in practice?

Every line of code we write is reviewed by at least one other developer on our team before it goes anywhere near your site. It’s how we make sure that what we produce reflects our collective best effort rather than any one person’s judgment on a given day. Your project manager will also be testing the results of the developers’ work to make sure it meets your needs.

Do you build mobile apps for nonprofits?

We do, though it’s a smaller part of our practice, because most organizations’ mobile access needs can be met by a fully responsive website. When an organization needs a native mobile app (for example, if they need an application that’s fully functional without an internet connection), we’re experienced with app development and publishing for iOS, Android, and cross-platform using Flutter.
