The Friends of the Payette Avalanche Center (FPAC) provides a community-based forum to share avalanche information. They operate and maintain beacon training facilities in the area, and provide basic avalanche education to all types of winter recreationists in order to facilitate awareness and safe backcountry travel and recreation. We provide maintenance, support, and feature development for their WordPress-based website, which uses the National Avalanche Center's shared avalanche forecasting tools to provide avalanche forecasts. Their site also provides community and professional backcountry conditions observations, as well as education and event listings.
