Peter is Giant Rabbit's technical leader; he has decades of experience planning and implementing software projects for both tiny nonprofits and industry-leading start-ups. He guides GR's technical processes from systems administration through development and long-term support, and acts as GR's highest point of escalation for all technical issues. He really, really, really understands how this stuff works.
Daniel oversees the planning and implementation of GR's slate of projects. He has managed hundreds of large and small web and data projects from initial planning through implementation through long-term maintenance, support, and evolution. He is also a nationally-produced playwright.
Jessica Burgess, Web Architect
Jessica Burgess is a web architect and project strategist who plans and manages web and data projects large and small. Some clients need architecturally-simple but narratively-complex sites that communicate a lot with a little; others need intricate, data-driven sites--Jessica has designed structures for both. Jessica also handles most of GR's business development, where her experience as a strategist helps her talk potential clients through a birds-eye view of how GR would approach their project. She also knows what it means to run a nonprofit organization: she founded a nationally-recognized 501(c)3 that fosters new play development nationwide. One of Giant Rabbit's artists-in-exile, she's a stage director with over 20 professional productions under her belt, most of them world premieres of new plays.
Richard Esguerra, Data Strategist and Implementer
Richard Esguerra brings a decade of non-profit fundraising, policy, and activism experience to serving Giant Rabbit's clients. Prior to joining Giant Rabbit, Richard relied on Drupal and CiviCRM to mobilize the public and gather significant financial support for the Electronic Frontier Foundation's digital civil liberties work as the organization's Development Director. Clients seeking a fresh perspective on strategy and technology benefit from Richard's years of experimentation at the front lines of using open-source tools for fundraising and advocacy. Outside of the office, Richard dotes on his family and struggles to retrieve the mystifyingly fabulous Orb of Zot.
Anna Heath*, Tech Lead
Anna is a veteran Drupal, WordPress, and CiviCRM developer. She has served as both a project manager and a developer on some of GR's largest and most technically-challenging projects (and some of our gnarliest rescues); it's that perspective that makes her one of GR's Tech Leads, who are responsible not just for supervising the technical details of GR projects but also overseeing project strategy as well as key tactical decisions from start to finish. In a previous life, Anna made her living performing in professional regional theater.
Brandon Hutchens, System Administrator
Brandon supports the many Linux servers that GR maintains for our clients. He works on provisioning, setup, ongoing security updates, backups, disaster recovery, and uptime monitoring, as well as developing and refining automation processes to make routine maintenance faster and more reliable. He comes to GR via San Francisco's Dev Bootcamp, and before that from the Lawrence Hall of Science, where he developed curricula and apps for middle-school students. Outside of the office, he can be found shepherding VIPs at major Star Trek conventions.
Stephanie Kirtiadi, Developer
Previously a chemical engineer designing industrial seawater desalination plants, Stephanie decided that she'd rather be a programmer, so she taught herself (and wrote a blog about learning to code). She started out with fun projects like creating a software version of a board game, then joined Giant Rabbit to write code for causes that she believes in. She practices yoga, and will be a 200-Hour certified teacher, focusing on Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga, as of December 2016. When she's not on her mat nor in front of her computer, she takes Argentine Tango classes or is out in a milonga, a tango social.
Amanda-Louise Krieger*, Senior Project Manager
Amanda manages some of GR's most demanding support projects, as well as supervising new design-and-build projects in both Drupal and Squarespace. As GR's Squarespace expert, Amanda works with clients to help them navigate the changing landscape of Squarespace and helps them leverage the tools offered by the platform to tell their organizational story efficiently and beautifully. By night, Amanda is an Actors' Equity stage manager, where she helps make sure people and props are where they need to be when they need to be there--and that everyone goes home with all their digits. Her favorite things include creative problem-solving and well-placed puns.
Kimberly Lai, Senior Web Designer / Information Architect
In a former life, Kim spent the her time analyzing financial data for large pools of commercial real estate in New York City. She packed her bags and moved to California in pursuit of her real passion: designing digital experiences. Armed with her M.F.A in Web Design and New Media from the San Francisco Academy of Art, she helps large and small clients tell their story, define their brand, and pursue their mission. Her talents include logo design, branding strategy, web design, app design, information architecture, and an increasing knowledge of interaction design. A culinary explorer, Kim is always up for a new restaurant or recipe -- she is the kind of person who will happily stand in an hour-long line for donuts!
Danielle Levin*, Project Manager
Danielle is a Project Manager who also works with potential clients to define their projects and kick off their engagement with GR. Before joining Giant Rabbit, Danielle worked at Pixar Animation Studios for many years wearing many different hats. She managed a variety of Pixar projects, including the creation of an internal website for Pixar employees to propose ideas for Studio change, as well as “Pixar in a Box,” a collaboration with Khan Academy that teaches math and science concepts used in creating Pixar films. Danielle is among the acting fools at GR and periodically can be seen on Bay Area stages. In her career, she has played an ant, an ox, and a fox, but never a rabbit.
Jenny Liu, Senior Software Developer
Mick Mize, Project Manager
Mick Mize is a project manager who works on large and small data and web projects. He has helped clients at all different stages of their engagement with their own data--from adopting their first data system through managing complex migrations. He also works on web projects of all sizes, ranging from small ongoing support engagements through big, complex site builds and content migrations. Mick leads the development of GR's site documentation and QA standards and practices. Mick has been a substitute teacher, a voiceover artist, a theater actor (Puck three times!), and a clown with Cirque du Soleil. He sometimes makes random trailers. This one is for CiviCRM.
Anthony Nemirovsky*, Tech Lead
Anthony specializes in Drupal and CiviCRM development. Anthony has years of experience planning and building websites and data systems; he has also worked as a project manager on some of GR's longest-running development and support projects. That technological and practical perspective makes him one of GR's Tech Leads; he works with a wide range of ongoing projects, from data systems through complex web builds, to make sure that both the implementation details and the project overall are headed in a successful direction. In addition to his work in technology, he is also a professional regional theater actor.
Diana Nguyen, Developer
Diana joined Giant Rabbit to put her passion for nonprofits to work after completing her BA in Computer Science from Mills College. Diana is also a musician and spoken word poet. You might be able to find her performing at local open mics or taking classes at the Jazz school.
Ben Wheeler, Senior Drupal Developer
Ben has years of Drupal experience and has worked on some of GR's biggest and most complex builds. His extensive Drupal experience makes him a leader of GR's constantly evolving Drupal best practices. He develops and maintains the standard GR Drupal installation and helps evaluate and improve our slate of recommended modules. He is also a seasoned front-end developer, with a detailed eye for rendering flat designs into dynamic, responsive Drupal themes. Ben studies Hakomi and somatic psychotherapy in his spare time.
